What's in a Name? Why Lizette Jewelry?

Let us tell you a little story:

In 1967, Maria's mother immigrated from Cuba to the United States, arriving in a new country without knowing a word of English. A year later, in July of 1968, Maria was born. When the hospital staff came to record the baby's name, her mother thought they were asking her name and answered, "Maria Rios."

By the time she realized the mix-up, the paperwork was already underway. The name she had chosen for her daughter — Lizette — became a middle name instead.

Maria chose Lizette for her jewelry brand to honor that story: her heritage, her mother's courage, and the beautifully imperfect moment that created her name.
